CIViC is an open, Wikipedia-style database of what cancer mutations mean for treatment.
CIViC holds community-curated clinical interpretations of variants in cancer, in an open, Wikipedia-style model where each evidence item is linked to the publication it came from. It is run by Washington University in St Louis through the Siteman Cancer Center, released under CC0, and both the code and the data are open. CIViC was a founding member of the GA4GH VICC meta-knowledgebase. On OnCo it appears alongside Cancer variant knowledgebases and molecular tumour boards and Clinical NGS bioinformatics and variant interpretation, and it is cited by the bottleneck Knowledge reaches practice too slowly and by ideas including Every tumour genomic report machine-readable and deposited nationally and An open knowledge graph linking trials, results, biomarkers, drugs and recommendations.
Open-source projects that are the code behind this collection or publish it, from OnCo's own catalogue: licence and last activity as the repository reported them on the day of the fetch. Listing is not endorsement; check the licence before reuse and the validation before clinical use.
