CDC50A (Cell cycle control protein 50A) is a gene. The public catalogues list it as a drug target and a biomarker, and clinical evidence ties its variants to diagnosis, prognosis or drug response. Tied to Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
Accessory component of a P4-ATPase flippase complex which catalyses the hydrolysis of ATP coupled to the transport of aminophospholipids from the outer to the inner leaflet of various membranes and ensures the maintenance of asymmetric distribution of phospholipids. Phospholipid translocation also seems to be implicated in vesicle formation and in uptake of lipid signalling molecules. The beta subunit may assist in binding of the phospholipid substrate.
CIViC holds 2 clinical evidence items and 0 assertions across 2 variants, naming R-CHOP Regimen.

No product in this corpus aims at CDC50A yet. Drugs bind the molecule precisely: to switch it off, flag the cell for the immune system, or deliver a payload.
Broadly expressed or essential: HPA finds the RNA at low tissue specificity; a medicine acting on the wild-type protein would expose normal tissue too. HPA TMEM30A: RNA low tissue specificity; no normal tissue stained high; highest cancer staining melanoma (7 of 11 high). Distribution: 1 cancer family in the corpus carries a prevalence row, label threshold or catalogue link for it (Lymphoma); Open Targets associates it with 0 specific cancer types at or above 0.5. (Rule 7 of scripts/fetch-target-specificity.ts.)

Required for the proper folding, assembly and ER to Golgi exit of the ATP8A2:CDC50A flippase complex. ATP8A2:CDC50A may be involved in regulation of neurite outgrowth, and, reconstituted to liposomes, predomiminantly transports phosphatidylserine (PS) and to a lesser extent phosphatidylethanolamine (PE). The ATP8A1:CDC50A flippase complex seems to play a role in regulation of cell migration probably involving flippase-mediated translocation of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) at the plasma membrane. Location: Membrane; Cell membrane; Golgi apparatus; Cytoplasmic vesicle, secretory vesicle membrane (UniProt). Locus 6q14.1 (HGNC).
RNA: low tissue specificity, detected in all normal tissues.
No normal tissue stained high; medium in Adrenal gland, Caudate, Cerebellum, Cerebral cortex, Colon, Duodenum and more.
Medium only: breast cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, glioma.
Human Protein Atlas version 25.1, antibody staining at reliability approved, enhanced or supported; used under CC BY-SA 3.0. Staining counts are patients per level in the atlas cohort, not population prevalence.
