Developed the MANAFEST assay to track the tumour-specific T cells that immunotherapy awakens.
Kellie N. Smith is Associate Professor of Oncology at the Bloomberg~Kimmel Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital and Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is a T-cell immunologist known for developing the MANAFEST assay, which detects and tracks the mutation-associated neoantigen-specific T cells that immunotherapy awakens. Her selected paper describes MANAFEST as a functional assay for neoantigen-specific T cells. She now applies these assays to neoadjuvant immunotherapy trials, with relevance to checkpoint inhibitors and personalised neoantigen vaccines.
