Nuclear medicine physician whose group invented FAPI PET tracers and pioneered PSMA and FAP radioligand therapy.
Uwe Haberkorn is Head of Nuclear Medicine at Heidelberg University Hospital and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). His specialisms are nuclear medicine, FAP-targeted radiopharmaceuticals and theranostics, with a focus on the FAP and PSMA targets. His Heidelberg group invented the quinoline-based FAP inhibitor (FAPI) tracers, and his Journal of Nuclear Medicine paper reported 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT tracer uptake across 28 different kinds of cancer. The group also led early PSMA-617 and FAP-targeted radioligand therapy in humans, and his record links him to FAP-2286 and lutetium-177 vipivotide tetraxetan. His publications are listed on PubMed.
