Rui-Hua Xu is President of Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center in Guangzhou, China's largest cancer centre, and Professor of Medical Oncology. A gastrointestinal oncologist, he has run the Chinese phase 3 trials that brought PD-1 antibodies into gastrointestinal cancer, including JUPITER-06 with toripalimab in oesophageal cancer and studies of camrelizumab in ESCORT-1st, fruquintinib and anti-EGFR therapy, establishing immunotherapy and targeted therapy for Chinese patients. His publications include the JUPITER-06 trial of toripalimab plus paclitaxel and cisplatin as first-line treatment for advanced oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma. His interests span colorectal, oesophageal and gastric cancer and immunotherapy.
