Jun Guo built China's melanoma programme around the acral and mucosal subtypes common in Asia, and led the trials that made toripalimab the first domestic PD-1 antibody approved.
Guo's department at Peking University Cancer Hospital is the largest melanoma unit in Asia; he led the registration study of toripalimab in previously treated melanoma (China's first domestic PD-1 approval, December 2018), trials of toripalimab plus axitinib in mucosal melanoma, and work defining KIT and other targets in acral melanoma.
