Engineered the IL13Rα2 CAR-T cells that produced a complete response in glioblastoma when infused into the brain.
Christine Brown is Deputy Director of the T Cell Therapeutics Research Laboratories at City of Hope. An immunologist leading CAR-T development for brain tumours, she engineered the IL13Rα2 CAR-T cells that produced a complete response in glioblastoma when infused into the brain. Her papers include the 2016 New England Journal of Medicine case of regression of glioblastoma after intraventricular CAR T-cell therapy and a Nature Medicine phase 1 trial of locoregional delivery of IL-13Rα2-targeting CAR-T cells in recurrent high-grade glioma. Her work established locoregional delivery and continues on armoured and next-generation CAR designs for glioma and glioblastoma.
