Built China's flagship biotherapy laboratory, a source of cancer vaccines, gene therapies, and biologics.
Yuquan Wei is Professor and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy at West China Hospital, Sichuan University. He founded the laboratory, China's flagship biotherapy institute and one of its largest translational cancer research centres, which has produced cancer vaccines, gene therapies and biologics, and he was president of Sichuan University. His publications include reviews of cancer vaccine platforms and progress, of mRNA vaccines as a therapeutic strategy, and of the CCL2-CCR2 signalling axis in cancer and its therapeutic targeting. His interests are cancer biotherapy, gene therapy, off-the-shelf and personalised neoantigen vaccines, and translational research.
