Peter Pisters is the surgeon who has run the world's largest cancer centre since 2017.
Peter Pisters is President of MD Anderson Cancer Center, a role he has held since 2017, and was previously CEO of University Health Network in Toronto. A surgical oncologist specialising in soft-tissue sarcoma and pancreatic cancer, he now runs the world's largest cancer centre and leads its Moon Shots programme and its clinical and research enterprise. His papers include a Journal of Clinical Oncology report on rapid-fractionation preoperative chemoradiation, pancreaticoduodenectomy and intraoperative radiation therapy for resectable pancreatic adenocarcinoma and the long-term results of a prospective randomised trial of adjuvant brachytherapy in soft tissue sarcoma.
