Created cord blood-derived CAR-NK cells, the first off-the-shelf CAR cell therapy to show remissions in lymphoma.
Katy Rezvani led the development and first-in-human trial of CD19-directed CAR natural killer cells derived from cord blood, which produced remissions in most patients with relapsed CLL and lymphoma without cytokine release syndrome or graft-versus-host disease, establishing NK cells as an allogeneic platform. Her laboratory engineers NK cells against solid tumour and myeloid targets and she directs the cell therapy programme at MD Anderson.
