Gary Lyman is Professor in the Public Health Sciences and Clinical Research Divisions at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. A medical oncologist and epidemiologist specialising in supportive care, health economics and comparative effectiveness, he chaired ASCO guidelines on neutropenia, venous thromboembolism and biosimilars in cancer care. His papers include the ASCO clinical practice guideline update on venous thromboembolism prophylaxis and treatment in patients with cancer and the ASCO guideline update on the use of white blood cell growth factors. He directs comparative effectiveness research at Fred Hutch, with links to cardio-oncology and geriatric assessment.
