The Imaging Data Commons is TCIA in the cloud, ready for large-scale model training.
The NCI Imaging Data Commons (IDC) is TCIA moved into the cloud, ready for large-scale model training. It holds a cloud-hosted, DICOM-standardised copy of TCIA and other collections, queryable with BigQuery and viewable in the browser, and it supports pathology whole-slide images as DICOM. It forms part of the Cancer Research Data Commons alongside the Genomic Data Commons, is maintained by the NCI Cancer Research Data Commons, and is linked to the National Cancer Institute (NIH). Access terms are set per collection. The resource is referenced by the roadmaps on AI in the oncology clinic and on AI in oncology from pattern readers to foundation models to agents in the workflow.
