Ruth Plummer is Professor of Experimental Cancer Medicine at Newcastle and Clinical Advisor to Cancer Research UK. Her specialisms are early-phase trials, DNA repair inhibitors and experimental cancer medicine. She led the first clinical trial of a PARP inhibitor, rucaparib, in 2005, and her Clinical Cancer Research paper reported the phase I study of the PARP inhibitor AG014699 combined with temozolomide in patients with advanced solid tumours.
