Priyanka Sharma is a TNBC trialist testing whether anthracyclines can be dropped from pre-surgery treatment.
Priyanka Sharma is Professor of Medicine at The University of Kansas Cancer Center and Study Chair of SWOG S2212 (SCARLET) within the SWOG Cancer Research Network. A breast medical oncologist specialising in triple-negative breast cancer, platinum chemotherapy and de-escalation trials, she led NeoSTOP and now leads SCARLET, which compares anthracycline-free carboplatin and docetaxel plus pembrolizumab with the KEYNOTE-522 regimen, testing whether anthracyclines can be dropped from pre-surgery treatment. Her papers report the NeoSTOP randomised phase II trial of anthracycline-free and anthracycline-containing neoadjuvant carboplatin regimens in triple-negative breast cancer and a combined two-cohort analysis of neoadjuvant carboplatin plus docetaxel in the same disease.
ctDNA and RCB measure different things and both should stratify post-neoadjuvant TNBC trials; an RCB-II patient with negative ctDNA has an 87% three-year event-free survival.
TROP2 IHC does not gate sacituzumab govitecan: the label requires no test, and the corpus records TROP2 as an expression readout without a threshold.
This cohort underpins the guideline shift to germline BRCA1/2 testing for all TNBC patients regardless of age or family history, and it is the prevalence figure the corpus uses for germline BRCA1 in TNBC.
The registry showed that age and family-history filters leak carriers, the argument that carried testing criteria from 'under 60' towards every TNBC diagnosis.
