Primo Lara is a GU and lung oncologist who co-chairs SWOG and directs UC Davis's cancer centre.
Primo Lara Jr. is Group Co-Chair of the SWOG Cancer Research Network and Director of the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. A genitourinary and lung medical oncologist, his research spans bladder, kidney and prostate cancer trials and phase 1 drug development, and he co-chairs SWOG with Dawn Hershman. His papers include a Journal of Clinical Oncology randomised phase III trial of carboplatin and paclitaxel with or without the vascular disrupting agent vadimezan in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer and a Lancet randomised phase 2 comparison of sunitinib with cabozantinib, crizotinib and savolitinib in advanced papillary renal cell carcinoma. His work covers bladder and urothelial cancer, renal cell carcinoma, prostate cancer and non-small-cell lung cancer.
