Genomics leader behind LC-SCRUM-Japan, the nationwide screening network that finds rare lung cancer drivers for trials.
Takashi Kohno is Chief of the Division of Genome Biology at the National Cancer Center Research Institute in Tokyo. His laboratory discovered and characterised fusion oncogenes in lung adenocarcinoma, including RET fusions, and he helped build the SCRUM-Japan genomic screening network, including LC-SCRUM-Japan, which finds rare lung cancer drivers and feeds patients into targeted-therapy trials. His publications include the discovery of KIF5B-RET fusions in lung adenocarcinoma. His interests are cancer genomics, lung cancer fusions and genomic screening networks using comprehensive genomic profiling and RNA sequencing.
