Leads thoracic oncology at NCC East and the LC-SCRUM-Japan network that connects rare-driver lung cancer patients to trials.
Koichi Goto is Chief of the Department of Thoracic Oncology at the National Cancer Center Hospital East in Japan. He has led Japanese and global trials of RET, ROS1, MET and HER2 inhibitors in non-small-cell lung cancer, including selpercatinib and trastuzumab deruxtecan, and directs the clinical side of LC-SCRUM-Japan, one of the largest genomic screening efforts in lung cancer, which connects patients with rare drivers to trials. His publications include the DESTINY-Lung02 trial of trastuzumab deruxtecan in HER2-mutant lung cancer, a phase 2 study of crizotinib in East Asian patients with ROS1-positive disease, and the LURET trial of vandetanib in RET-rearranged lung cancer. His interests are rare oncogenic drivers and genomic screening.
