Jan Burger is a haematologist and laboratory investigator at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He was first author of the 2015 New England Journal of Medicine report of RESONATE-2, which showed that ibrutinib improved progression-free and overall survival compared with chlorambucil in previously untreated older patients with CLL, establishing BTK inhibition as first-line therapy.
