Angela DeMichele led the first palbociclib clinical trial and co-leads the I-SPY 2 adaptive platform.
Angela DeMichele is Co-Leader of the Breast Cancer Research Program and the Alan and Jill Miller Professor in Breast Cancer Excellence at the Abramson Cancer Center, University of Pennsylvania. She is a medical oncologist known for conducting the first palbociclib clinical trial in breast cancer and for co-leading the I-SPY 2 adaptive platform trial. Her selected paper reports the phase 2 activity, safety and predictive biomarkers of the CDK4/6 inhibitor palbociclib in Rb-positive advanced breast cancer. She now studies disseminated tumour cell dormancy as a target for preventing late recurrence in hormone receptor-positive and triple-negative breast cancer.
