Amar Kishan is Professor and Vice Chair of Clinical and Translational Research in Radiation Oncology at UCLA, part of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. A radiation oncologist specialising in prostate radiotherapy, MR-guided radiotherapy and hypofractionation, he led MIRAGE, the randomised trial of MRI-guided versus CT-guided stereotactic body radiotherapy for prostate cancer, which showed fewer side effects with MRI guidance. His papers report the MIRAGE trial in JAMA Oncology and an individual patient data meta-analysis of androgen deprivation therapy use and duration with definitive radiotherapy for localised prostate cancer in Lancet Oncology.
