Alex Herrera is Chief of the Division of Lymphoma at City of Hope and SWOG Executive Officer for Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma. A haematologist-oncologist specialising in Hodgkin lymphoma and immunotherapy, he was study chair of SWOG S1826, which compared nivolumab-AVD with brentuximab-AVD and led to the 2026 approval of nivolumab in untreated advanced Hodgkin lymphoma. His papers report nivolumab plus AVD in advanced-stage classic Hodgkin lymphoma in the New England Journal of Medicine and interim results of brentuximab vedotin combined with nivolumab in relapsed or refractory Hodgkin lymphoma in Blood. He also works on diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and oversees SWOG's haematologic committees.
