Iran's oldest and largest cancer centre, founded in 1955 within Tehran's Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex, and the country's main oncology training and research hub.
The Cancer Institute of Iran was established in 1955 as part of the Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and is the largest cancer hospital in Iran, offering surgical, medical and radiation oncology, breast and gastrointestinal cancer surgery, nuclear medicine and a Cancer Research Center that runs the Tehran cancer registry and epidemiological studies.
