Orano Med, based in Paris and Plano, Texas, is the leading producer of lead-212 and the developer of 212Pb-DOTAMTATE, known as AlphaMedix, an alpha-emitting radioligand for somatostatin-receptor-positive neuroendocrine tumours. AlphaMedix reported a 56 percent objective response rate in its phase 2, the company builds lead-212 generators, and it works with Sanofi and RadioMedix. OnCo links it to neuroendocrine tumours, to somatostatin receptor 2 as a target, to peptide receptor radionuclide therapy, targeted alpha therapy and the isotope supply chain, and to the idea of funding alpha emitters beyond actinium-225, including lead-212, terbium-149 and astatine-211. Manufacturing cost and time for radioactive medicines is the bottleneck it sits inside. Whether lead-212 can be delivered to enough hospitals to matter is the open question.
