German antibody company that acquired Constellation's BET inhibitor pelabresib and was itself bought by Novartis in 2024.
MorphoSys, based in Planegg near Munich, was the German antibody company that developed tafasitamab and acquired Constellation Pharmaceuticals for the BET inhibitor pelabresib, before Novartis bought it in 2024; OnCo marks the record as historic. Tafasitamab, sold as Monjuvi, is a CD19 antibody for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma whose rights moved to Incyte, and pelabresib, acquired with Constellation in 2021, was studied in myelofibrosis in the MANIFEST-2 trial. OnCo links it to diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, to CD19 as a target, to epigenetic drugs and monoclonal antibodies, and to Novartis. Whether pelabresib justifies the price Novartis paid is the question that outlived the company. Tafasitamab has its own page.
