HUYABIO is a San Diego company that licenses Chinese-discovered medicines for the rest of the world; its lead is tucidinostat, the oral HDAC inhibitor approved in China and Japan for T-cell lymphoma, which it took into a phase 3 trial in melanoma with a checkpoint inhibitor.
HUYABIO International, based in San Diego, in-licenses drug candidates from Chinese companies and develops them outside China. Its lead compound tucidinostat (HBI-8000, chidamide), a class I HDAC inhibitor approved in China for peripheral T-cell lymphoma and breast cancer and in Japan for lymphoma, was tested with nivolumab in the phase 3 trial registered on ClinicalTrials.gov under HUYABIO as lead sponsor.
Chidamide, approved in 2014, was the first epigenetic cancer drug invented in China and the first oral drug of its kind anywhere, used for T-cell lymphoma and, with hormone therapy, for breast cancer.
