Gamgee sequences a dog's tumour and designs a personalised mRNA vaccine that teaches its immune system what to attack, and is running trials in Australia with the aim of improving the approach with every case.
Gamgee began when its founder used AI and genomic analysis to design what is believed to be the first fully computationally designed mRNA cancer vaccine given to a dog, with scientists at UNSW; several tumours shrank. The company now runs an end-to-end platform for personalised neoantigen mRNA vaccines in dogs, from veterinary intake and tissue collection through sequencing, vaccine manufacture, treatment and response monitoring, with clinical trials in Australia. It is a veterinary business included for its comparative oncology value; human applications are not claimed.
