S. Vincent Rajkumar is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic and editor-in-chief of Blood Cancer Journal. A haematologist specialising in multiple myeloma and plasma cell disorders, he led the International Myeloma Working Group's updated diagnostic criteria, the criteria the field uses, and the randomised trials establishing lenalidomide-dexamethasone dosing. His papers include the Lancet Oncology report of the International Myeloma Working Group updated criteria for the diagnosis of multiple myeloma and the Lancet Oncology open-label randomised trial of lenalidomide plus high-dose versus low-dose dexamethasone as initial therapy for newly diagnosed myeloma. He is also a persistent critic of drug prices, and his record links to BCMA.
