Molecular pathologist who co-founded Network Genomic Medicine and characterised lung cancer genomes.
Reinhard Büttner is Director of the Institute of Pathology at University Hospital Cologne (CIO). A molecular pathologist, his specialisms are molecular pathology, lung cancer genomics and predictive biomarkers, combining histopathology and immunohistochemistry with comprehensive genomic profiling. He co-founded Network Genomic Medicine and co-authored the Clinical Lung Cancer Genome Project analyses that defined targetable alterations in non-small-cell lung cancer. His papers include a review of PD-L1 immunohistochemistry assays and their clinical implementation in lung cancer, a study of KEAP1- and NFE2L2-mutated non-small-cell lung carcinoma, and a review of precision medicine in non-small-cell lung cancer. His publications are listed on PubMed.
