Olivier Delattre discovered the EWS-FLI1 fusion that defines Ewing sarcoma.
Olivier Delattre is Director of the Research Center at Institut Curie in Paris and Head of Genetics and Biology of Cancers. His specialisms are paediatric sarcoma, Ewing sarcoma genetics and cancer genomics. He identified the EWSR1-FLI1 gene fusion that defines Ewing sarcoma in 1992, reported in Nature as a gene fusion with an ETS DNA-binding domain caused by chromosome translocation in human tumours. He has since led paediatric cancer genomics and now directs the Institut Curie research centre. His publications are listed on PubMed.
