Nathan Cherny is Director of Cancer Pain and Palliative Medicine at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem and Chair of the ESMO-MCBS Working Group of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). His specialisms are palliative medicine, value assessment of cancer drugs and ethics. He created the ESMO Magnitude of Clinical Benefit Scale, which grades trial results by the size of the benefit they show and is used by health systems worldwide as the standard tool for judging how much a cancer drug really helps. His Annals of Oncology paper described this standardised, validated approach to stratifying clinical benefit. His publications are listed on PubMed.
