Sung-Gyu Lee is Professor of Surgery at Asan Medical Center in Seoul and leads its liver transplantation programme. He pioneered dual-graft and right-lobe living-donor liver transplantation, building the world's highest-volume living-donor programme, which treats a large share of Korean hepatocellular carcinoma within transplant criteria and is a cornerstone of liver cancer care in Asia. His publications include a description of dual-graft adult living donor liver transplantation as a procedure for expanding the live donor pool.
