Led the first trials of BRAF inhibition in melanoma and chairs the NCI-MATCH precision medicine trial.
Keith T. Flaherty is Director of Clinical Research at the Mass General Cancer Center. He is a melanoma oncologist known for leading the first trials of BRAF inhibition, as first author of the 2010 vemurafenib study, and for the dabrafenib plus trametinib combination work that followed. His selected papers report inhibition of mutated, activated BRAF in metastatic melanoma and combined BRAF and MEK inhibition in BRAF V600-mutant melanoma. He co-chairs the NCI-MATCH precision medicine trial and continues to work on small-molecule kinase inhibitors.
