Immunologist who directs the NCI-designated JAX Cancer Center at The Jackson Laboratory and holds its Edison T. Liu Endowed Chair in Cancer Research.
Karolina Palucka (MD, PhD) is Director of the JAX Cancer Center and holds the Edison T. Liu Endowed Chair in Cancer Research at The Jackson Laboratory, where she is a professor based in Farmington, Connecticut. Her laboratory works on human immunology and experimental immunotherapy, including dendritic cell-based vaccines for cancer and HIV, and uses single-cell genomics to understand immune cell mechanisms. The JAX Cancer Center has been an NCI-designated basic laboratory cancer centre since 1983, one of only seven in the United States, focuses on the genetic and genomic mechanisms of ageing-related inflammation and cellular dysfunction in cancer, and earned an 'exceptional' rating on its most recent Cancer Center Support Grant renewal.
