A senior gastric cancer oncologist whose adjuvant and perioperative trials in Korea helped define post-gastrectomy chemotherapy.
Won Ki Kang is Professor of Medical Oncology at Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, specialising in gastrointestinal oncology. A senior gastric cancer oncologist, he has led Korean multicentre trials including the ARTIST studies of adjuvant chemoradiation, which helped define chemotherapy after gastrectomy, and has been an investigator on first-line immunotherapy trials such as CheckMate 649 and on HER2 trials. His publications include the ARTIST phase 3 trial of adjuvant capecitabine and cisplatin with or without radiotherapy in D2-resected gastric cancer. His interests are gastric cancer, adjuvant chemotherapy and clinical trials.
