Physician-scientist who directs the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, the US national laboratory dedicated to cancer and AIDS research.
Jay Schnitzer is Director of the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, the federally funded research and development centre operated by Leidos Biomedical Research for the National Cancer Institute, with about 2,400 staff. A surgeon by training with prior leadership roles at MITRE and DARPA, he oversees the laboratory's programmes in cancer, HIV/AIDS and infectious disease, including the RAS Initiative and the NCI's biopharmaceutical development facility.
