Giovanni Blandino was confirmed as Scientific Director of the IRCCS Regina Elena National Cancer Institute (IRE), part of the IFO group in Rome, in May 2026. He leads the institute's Translational Oncology Research unit, where his laboratory studies gain-of-function mutant p53, its effects on tumour metabolism and non-coding RNAs, and strategies to target it therapeutically. His appointment is announced on the IFO website.
