Ian Cree is Head of the WHO Classification of Tumours programme at the International Agency for Research on Cancer. He edits the WHO Blue Books, the classification every pathologist uses to name a cancer, coordinating the fifth edition across all tumour types and introducing evidence-based methods into tumour classification. His publications include a common classification framework for neuroendocrine neoplasms, a revision of the classification of female genital tract tumours, and a summary of the WHO classification of tumours of the central nervous system. His interests are pathology, tumour classification and evidence-based diagnosis, including histopathology and DNA methylation profiling.
