Carsten Bokemeyer is Director of the Department of Oncology, Hematology and BMT at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf. A medical oncologist, his specialisms are testicular cancer, colorectal cancer and medical oncology. He led the OPUS trial of cetuximab with FOLFOX in colorectal cancer and has a long record in germ cell tumour research. His papers include a study of early tumour shrinkage as a predictor of long-term outcome in cetuximab-treated metastatic colorectal cancer, a European Urology report establishing serum microRNA miR-371a-3p as a biomarker for germ cell tumours, and a review of catumaxomab, a trifunctional anti-EpCAM antibody used for malignant ascites.
