The Yale programme that acts as independent steward of clinical trial data from Johnson & Johnson and other sponsors, letting outside researchers re-analyse trials including oncology studies.
Founded in 2011 by Harlan Krumholz and Joseph Ross at Yale, the YODA Project pioneered independent, transparent sharing of participant-level clinical trial data: sponsors (Johnson & Johnson since 2014, with Medtronic and others) hand over data and clinical study reports, and YODA reviews researcher requests against pre-specified criteria, publishing decisions and resulting publications. Its holdings include Janssen oncology trials of abiraterone, daratumumab, ibrutinib and CAR-T, enabling re-analyses of subgroups, toxicity and endpoints. YODA's model influenced the ICMJE data-sharing statement requirements and sits alongside Vivli and Project Data Sphere as the main academic trial data-sharing infrastructure.
From OpenAlex, oncology works in the last five years (2022 to 2026, current year in progress); counted on 2026-09-17.
