Overview
Rigshospitalet is Denmark's national referral hospital for specialised care and the largest partner in the Danish Comprehensive Cancer Center. Its haematology department under Kirsten Grønbæk and colleagues leads Danish and Nordic leukaemia and lymphoma trials and CAR-T delivery, the phase 1 unit under Ulrik Lassen runs the Copenhagen Prospective Personalized Oncology programme, and radiation oncology has a long record in lymphoma and breast radiotherapy trials. Copenhagen University Hospital's Herlev site hosts the National Center for Cancer Immune Therapy (CCIT-DK, Inge Marie Svane), which co-led the phase 3 trial of TIL therapy in melanoma with the Netherlands Cancer Institute. Denmark's population registries and biobanks make the hospital a hub for real-world and epidemiological cancer research.
