Veracyte makes the Decipher genomic classifier, the most-used gene-expression test in localised prostate cancer.
Veracyte, based in South San Francisco and listed as VCYT, is the diagnostics company behind Decipher Prostate, the most-used gene-expression test in localised prostate cancer. Decipher is a twenty-two gene genomic classifier carrying NCCN level-1 evidence for prognostication in both biopsy and post-prostatectomy settings, validated on randomised cohorts from NRG and RTOG trials, and it competes conceptually with ArteraAI's digital pathology test. OnCo also links Veracyte to the Afirma Genomic Sequencing Classifier for thyroid nodules and to Prosigna, the PAM50 breast cancer assay, as well as to C2i Genomics. Whether gene-expression tests or image-based AI become the default risk tool in prostate cancer is the open question. Decipher, Afirma and Prosigna each have their own pages.
A 22-gene test on the biopsy or surgical specimen that predicts spread and death, used to decide on surveillance or adding hormone therapy.
A gene test on the needle sample from a thyroid lump that can safely call an 'uncertain' result benign and spare an operation.
A 50-gene test run in local hospital laboratories that estimates the ten-year risk of a hormone-positive breast cancer coming back.
