Personalis, based in Fremont, California, and listed as PSNL, makes the ultra-sensitive NeXT Personal test for measurable residual disease and is being acquired by Tempus AI for about 1.5 billion dollars, announced in July 2026. NeXT Personal is a tumour-informed whole-genome MRD assay whose clinical volumes grew 33 percent quarter over quarter to 10,384 tests in the second quarter of 2026, and Tempus agreed to pay 16.25 dollars per share in stock, with closing expected in late 2026 or early 2027. OnCo links it to MRD testing, liquid biopsy and whole-genome sequencing, to the MRD term, to Tempus, and to the idea of pushing residual disease detection a hundredfold deeper with whole-genome methods.
