Exelixis makes cabozantinib (Cabometyx), used in kidney, liver, thyroid and, since 2025, neuroendocrine cancers.
Exelixis, based in Alameda, California, and listed as EXEL, makes cabozantinib, sold as Cabometyx, which is used in kidney, liver, thyroid and, since 2025, neuroendocrine cancers. Cabozantinib is approved in renal cell carcinoma alone and with nivolumab, in hepatocellular carcinoma after sorafenib on the CELESTIAL trial, in differentiated thyroid cancer, and in advanced pancreatic and extra-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours on the CABINET trial in March 2025, and the next-generation kinase inhibitor zanzalintinib is in phase 3 in colorectal cancer and neuroendocrine tumours. OnCo also links it to adrenocortical carcinoma and osteosarcoma. Whether zanzalintinib can extend the franchise beyond cabozantinib is the open question. Cabozantinib has its own page.
A pill that blocks both blood-vessel growth and the MET escape pathway, used in kidney, liver, thyroid and, since 2025, neuroendocrine cancers.
Zanzalintinib is an experimental small-molecule drug from Exelixis in phase 3 trials for neuroendocrine tumours, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and renal cell carcinoma, aimed at VEGF / VEGFR and MET.
