CARsgen Therapeutics developed satri-cel, the first CAR-T approved for a solid tumour (gastric cancer, China).
CARsgen Therapeutics, based in Shanghai and listed in Hong Kong as 2171.HK, developed satricabtagene autoleucel, or satri-cel, the first CAR-T approved for a solid tumour, in gastric cancer in China. Satri-cel targets Claudin 18.2 and was tested in LUMMICAR STUDY 1, zevorcabtagene autoleucel is its BCMA CAR-T approved in China, and allogeneic and GPC3 programmes follow, with Zonghai Li and Lin Shen among the people linked. OnCo links it to gastric and pancreatic cancer, to Peking University Cancer Hospital and Renji Hospital, and to both drug records. Whether a Claudin 18.2 CAR-T can win approval outside China and compete with antibodies and ADCs against the same target is the open question. Satricabtagene autoleucel has its own page.
Satricabtagene autoleucel (satri-cel) is the first CAR-T therapy approved for a solid tumour (gastric cancer), in China.
Zevor-cel is CARsgen's myeloma CAR-T, approved in China in 2024 for patients whose disease has come back after three or more treatments.
Led the CT041 trials that produced the first CAR-T therapy approved for a solid tumour, in gastric cancer.
Zonghai Li moved CAR-T therapy from blood cancers into stomach cancer, founding CARsgen and developing satri-cel, the first CAR-T approved for a solid tumour.
