Medulloblastoma biologist whose molecular subgrouping work underpins risk-adapted treatment of childhood brain tumours; directs Newcastle University's cancer centre.
Steven Clifford is Director of the Newcastle University Centre for Cancer and Chair of Molecular Paediatric Oncology. His research has defined molecular subgroups and prognostic biomarkers of medulloblastoma, the most common malignant childhood brain tumour, informing risk stratification in European SIOP trials and clinical guidelines. The centre works alongside the Northern Centre for Cancer Care at Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
