Shaomeng Wang is the medicinal chemist behind some of the first clinical MDM2 inhibitors and PROTAC degraders.
Shaomeng Wang is the Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis Professor in Medicine and Director of Rogel Cancer Center Drug Discovery at the University of Michigan. He is the medicinal chemist behind some of the first clinical MDM2 inhibitors and PROTAC degraders, having designed MDM2 inhibitors, BET and androgen receptor degraders, and the first STAT3 degrader to enter clinical trials. His selected paper reports a selective small-molecule STAT3 degrader that achieves complete tumour regression in vivo. He has founded several oncology biotechs and continues to work on targeted protein degradation.
