Kidney specialist from NHS Highland who chairs the Scottish Medicines Consortium, the body that decides which newly licensed medicines are accepted for use in the Scottish health service.
Dr Robert Peel, Consultant Nephrologist at NHS Highland, is Chair of the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC), a committee of clinicians, pharmacists, health board representatives, industry and the public that assesses newly licensed medicines, including cancer drugs, for use by NHSScotland. He is supported by vice chairs Graeme Bryson, Director of Pharmacy at NHS Lanarkshire, and Jane Goddard, Consultant Nephrologist at NHS Lothian.
