Pilar Garrido is Head of Medical Oncology at Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal in Madrid, Professor at the Universidad de Alcalá and a former Council member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). A thoracic oncologist, her specialisms are lung cancer, precision oncology and health policy, and she is a past president of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology. Her papers include the Spanish Lung Cancer Group Trial 9901 on complete resection after induction chemotherapy in stage III non-small-cell lung cancer, a JAMA Oncology study of the Lung Immune Prognostic Index and immune checkpoint inhibitor outcomes, and the Spanish national consensus on predictive biomarker testing in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer.
