Berlin oncologist who led GATSBY, the trial showing that the antibody-drug conjugate T-DM1 did not beat taxane chemotherapy in previously treated HER2-positive stomach cancer.
Peter Thuss-Patience is a gastrointestinal oncologist at Charité in Berlin. He led the German AIO trial that established second-line irinotecan over best supportive care in gastric cancer, and was first author of the 2017 Lancet Oncology report of GATSBY, in which trastuzumab emtansine failed to improve survival over taxane chemotherapy in HER2-positive advanced gastric cancer after first-line treatment.
