Per Hall is the epidemiologist behind KARMA and the risk-based breast screening programme.
Per Hall is Professor of Radiation Epidemiology at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, working with Karolinska University Hospital. His specialisms are breast cancer epidemiology, risk-based screening and mammographic density. He leads the KARMA cohort and developed risk models that combine mammographic density, genetics and lifestyle to personalise the interval between breast screens. His Lancet Digital Health paper reported a prospective, population-based, paired-reader study of artificial intelligence for breast cancer detection in screening mammography in Sweden. His work spans mammography, tomosynthesis and AI in radiology, and his publications are listed on PubMed.
